Saving & Planting Trees

When Clinical Partners started, we didn't set out to save trees. We set out to help students and schools and medical facilities save time, energy and money by going paperless.  But then we realized something amazing.  We can save trees.  Lots of them.

Tree Goals

We calculated that students, during the clinical portion of their program, use approximately 1000 sheets of paper per year.

Then we calculated that an average enrollment at a medical training school in the USA is about 200 students. So each year, about 200,000 sheets of paper are used for clinical training per school for medical students in the United States. That's about 25 trees. It might not seem like much, but that's just one school.  Here's a breakdown.

We now have a new mission. Save and plant trees.

We asked, how can we save a forest and how can we plant a forest each year? We learned that a forest can be calculated by the number of trees you can fit in an acre. And you can plant about 250 trees in an acre.  In order for us to reach our goal of planting a forest and saving a forest each year, we need to save 250 trees and plant 250 trees.  We figure, for every 20 students that choose Clinical Partners and go Paperless, we can save 5 trees.

500 TREES means that we need to reach 10 SCHOOLS this year that each have an average number of 200 students!

Even if we don't meet our goal this year, we are so proud to be establishing a forest that is created by all of the Clinical Partners that choose to go paperless that we would like to invite every Clinical Partner to our forest each year and celebrate.
